*AD – Unpaid Review

Learning Resources was a website I loved when I was teaching, and still love – probably more – as a parent. I love how everything on there is both fun and educational – the perfect combination.

We were sent a couple of tubs of Stems to review. These are tubs of bendy, wobbly shapes pieces that click and zip together into all sorts of 2D and 3D creations. If you have never heard of STEM before, it stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and is a huge focus in education at the moment, particularly for girls. My three boys have always gravitated towards STEM-related toys and activities, particularly Alex, who loves to work out how things are put together and how he can change things. I knew that they would love these!

There are different sized tubs, starting at 20 for £9.99. You can do an awful lot with 20 of these! They aren’t the easiest things to click together to begin with, but once the boys worked out what to do (I purposely didn’t give them any of the included instruction leaflets!), they were well away, making 2D train tracks and crowns to wear on their head. It’s the perfect toy to have stashed away ready for a rainy day when you don’t want to rely on screens.
