Schleich is a brand that I always associate with being super high quality, so when we recieved the Schleich pony agility training set to review, I was interested to see if it lived up to the expectations I had for it. It did.

All three of the boys are really into imaginative play, and they’re all massive animal lovers, so this was a perfect introduction to the Farm World collection from the brand. It comes with everything you would need to train ponies – paddock fencing, small jump obstacles that can be adjusted, a see-saw and more, and an articulated child figure is included to help lead the horses.

It was simple to set up, taking just a few minutes of putting some bits together and a couple of stickers, and then it was ready for play. It’s made of plastic, but is incredibly durable and will last for years. It’s colourful and bright, and all the pieces are just the right size for the recommended age range (3-8 years).

It’s become one of the boys favourite toys to play with at the moment – they spend hours making the hand painted ponies jump over the obstacles and walk through the fly curtain. The only issue we have had is that the helmet doesn’t seem to stay on the girl, and I don’t think it will be long before that has disappeared.

I can see us extending our Schleich collection in the near future because I can see just how much fun the boys have had with it, and it’s not the sort of toy that will fall apart in a few weeks.
