This week has passed in such a blur. I can’t believe that we are in February already. We’ve had our first bout of illness this year – Alex was poorly over the weekend, but perked up and was back to his normal, noisy self by Tuesday. We still managed to get out on the weekend, to do the Stick Man Trail at the Wyre Forest, followed by a late lunch at the pub by the river. Even though he wasn’t 100%, I think the fresh air did Alex the world of good, and he still managed a smile.
Anyway, onto this week’s Little Loves…
Read
Um. Nothing! Well, I read a few blog posts, but that’s about it. Of course, I’ve been reading with the kids and realised just how riveting Harrison’s ‘Biff, Chip and Kipper’ books from school are. Not. He enjoys them though, and he’s just moved up a stage (proud mummy moment right there!). I still can’t believe that he can actually read!
Watched
We finished watching Making a Murderer on the weekend and were at a bit of a loose end when it came to TV. Neither of us has watched Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead, which is next on our list. We’ve been too tired to start watching anything new this week though, so have started watching Luther again from the beginning. God, I love Idris Elba!!
Heard
I heard a cover of ‘Fast Car’ by Tracey Chapman on the radio the other day, which I *think* is, or was number one (I am so behind with the charts!). I’m not sure if I like it or not – the original is probably my favourite song, and I don’t think anyone could ever do quite as good a job.
Wore
A woolly hat! I love hats – they’re perfect for covering bad hair days, but I haven’t really wore one this winter so far. I was glad I found it in the boot of the car when we went to the forest on the weekend because it was so cold!
Made
A den. Well, I helped Harrison to make one. I was pretty pleased with our efforts!
And lastly…
On the 1st of every month, I sit down and look at all of my blog stats from the previous month. With work, I haven’t been able to put as much time into blogging as I used to, so it was a lovely surprise to see that January was one of my best-ever months in terms of views and follower growth! Stats are never the be all and end all, but I would be a liar if I said I’m not bothered by them. It’s always nice to know that people enjoy reading what you have written!
How was your week?
It’s so amazing when they learn to read isn’t it? I love listening to them, even though biff chip and kipper can get a little dull! haha
I love that Tracey Chapman song, so beautiful. I’ve head the new remix though and had to turn the radio off, defo not a fan, but if it means kids discover her music then maybe it’s not such a bad thing.
Have a lovely weekend (and well done on the stats!) xx
I’m not sure about the new Fast Car version either, I think it’s one of those songs where you will never be able to beat the original. We love Luther in our house although I think we missed half of the first series so may have to go back and watch them. Have a lovely weekend. xx
I keep meaning to watch Luther, everyone says it’s so good. Love that song too, such a classic, have a great weekend 🙂 xx
That’s one hell of a den! I have to turn the Fast Car remix off when it comes on the radio as the original is one of my favourite songs and it just doesn’t do it justice. I can’t wait for my little one to show an interest in reading, he’s way too happy letting us do it for him at the mo. Have a great weekend x
Making the dens looked like great fun and I quite like the new fast car song too. Have a good week #LittleLoves
That den looks amazing, also you are rocking that wooly hat. Great colour on you. Tracy Chapman had a great voice xxx #LittleLoves
