I’m writing this in a rare moment of peace and calmness. There have been very few moments like that in the past week or so, and next week is going to be even more nuts. October, as I’ve said many times before, is our crazy month. This year it’s even more manic than normal but super exciting. I’ll be running about like a headless chicken next week making sure we have everything ready for my brother’s wedding and Alex’s birthday the next day, but for now, I’m sitting down with a coffee and writing some blog posts.
Read
Alex has started bringing home some sound strips from school so we’ve been practising those every night, whilst Harrison reads his school books. Harrison has also recently discovered a love of Roald Dahl books (added to the Christmas list!) so we’ve been reading Matilda in the evenings. We’ve also all been loving The Awesome Book of Animals by Adam Frost. It’s full of really interesting facts about animals. Did you know that there is a species of monkey that says ‘Hello’ by doing massive burps in each other’s faces?!*
Watched
We’ve become a house full of Moana fans – even Graham and I love it! I’m not usually the biggest Disney films fan but there’s just something about Moana, Maui and Hei Hei that we all love! On a more grown-up note, I’ve just rewatched ‘Kingsman – The Secret Service’ – I’m well excited about the sequel coming out. I absolutely love this film and have developed a bit of an unhealthy crush on Taron Egerton – he’s Welsh (I love blokes who can speak Welsh), he is funny, he sings and he is HOT – especially in a suit and glasses. Sorry, David Beckham – I think Taron has overtaken you in my heart! I mean seriously, this made me get a little bit flustered!
Made
Well, we did attempt to make some pumpkin bunting (and I totally just typed that as bumpkin punting!) the other day, using apples cut in half and stamped in orange paint. It didn’t exactly go to plan! You can read this post to find out what happened to it!
Heard
Following on from our Moana obsession, it appears that ‘You’re Welcome’ is now our most listened to song on Spotify! At the moment, I’m having to take Graham to work and pick him up which is a 56-mile round trip twice a day so we are listening to a LOT of music!
Wore
I’ve had some lovely new clothes to review, which I’ll be sharing with you next week. This week it’s been all about getting the boys suits for the wedding sorted. They really wanted to wear proper suits like the grown-ups, so I’ve spent an insane amount of money on little jackets, trousers, waistcoats, shirts and ties. It’s all worth the £££’s though – they just melted my heart when they tried them on. I’m not going to show you the pictures until after the wedding, but my three little blondies look flipping adorable in them!
Lastly
This time next week we will be on our way to Birmingham for the event we’ve been waiting over a year for – my brother’s wedding. I’m so excited that it’s finally here, but a little sad that it will be soon all over! It’s my first time being a bridesmaid so I’m a little nervous (I keep having dreams that I’m going to fall over – thank god I’m wearing flat shoes!) but I know it’s going to be a brilliant day.
*We were sent this book free of charge. All words and opinions are our own.
