Summer dresses, birthdays and playing on the beach #LittleLoves

It’s been a busy, busy week – and the next few are due to get even busier. My planner (and google calendar now I’ve finally joined the 21st century and started using it!) is absolutely packed with swimming lessons, school fairs, non-uniform days, family events at school and play dates! We also are ready to go back to Birmingham any time now for the weekend when my baby niece or nephew is born – just over three weeks to go until D-Day! Then, before we know it, it will be the summer holidays which I am really looking forward to. Last year was a bit ‘meh’ – we were worried about finding a house, finding money to move house and packing. This year, we are going to absolutely make up for that!

Sunday was Harrison’s 6th birthday. We celebrated it on Saturday, when my parents, brother and Nan came up to spend the day. He opened all of his presents, put on his new outfits and we went for a walk along the prom for coffees and milkshakes. I can’t believe he is 6 – it still feels like a few weeks ago we were bringing him home from the hospital in his car seat!

This week’s Little Loves

Read

I’ve not read anything really for pleasure this week (nothing new there!) but I’ve been reading lots of news stories. I was, like most people, absolutely shocked and horrified at the fire in that tower block in London. I can’t believe that in this day and age, where our lives are often so overrun by ridiculous health and safety laws that this was able to happen. I really hate the thought of anyone – especially families with children – living in high rise tower blocks for all sorts of reasons, but this was the main one. I really hope that some good does come out of it and that every single tower block in the UK is checked over and brought into line with our usually very stringent fire regulations. It was also good to read that, as in every awful situation the country seems to have been in recently, the good of people really came to light.

Heard

I never thought I would publicly come out and admit to loving a Bieber track – but here goes. I fluffin’ love his new one. It’s all Spanishy and summery and sounds bloody amazing loud in my new car. Did I tell you all that my mum and dad gave me a Jag? Yes – I sound like a right spoilt cow but our Zafira was knackered and they were selling their X-Type Jag – we ended up with it! It’s an absolute beaut to drive! Anyway, back to the Beibs…TUNE!!! Oh, and Luis  Fonsi is a bit easy on the eye, isn’t he?

Wore

The summer clothes have been making an appearance again this week – I’ve been sent a couple of lush dresses and some sandals from JD Williams to review – watch out for that in the next couple of weeks. I absolutely could not share this photo of my super, SUPER cool 6 year old in his birthday outfit (from Auntie Charlotte and Uncle Simon of Whisky and Milkshakes!). The kid has so much style – he even went and blew all of his birthday money on clothes as well.

Watched

This week has been all about season 5 of Orange is the New Black. OITNB was probably the first series I ever sat and binge watched, and I’ve loved it ever since. I’m not sure this is the best series (I’m on episode 4 or 5) but it feels like it might be the end of the show. I hope not – but it does seem to have that vibe to it.

Made

I don’t think I’ve actually made anything this week! I’ve sanded down a couple of chairs, if that counts?

And lastly

On Wednesday night we jumped in the car and headed to Llandudno for an after school play on the beach. It was the first time we have done that for ages and it was lovely. The kids stripped down to shorts and played in the sea whilst we watched on.

How has your week been?
