Like most children their age, Harrison, Alex and Ben love to explore the world around them – and that includes digging and getting filthy. We are lucky that we can go to the beach regularly to get this out of their system but with the weather being so rubbish lately, they haven’t been able to. This is when Kinetic Rock, from the makers of the super popular Kinetic sand – a much cleaner alternative to sand and mud – becomes useful!

Kinetic rock is made from real rock that magically sticks together and the kids can dig, build, crush and mould until their hearts are content. We got it out one afternoon after school, and it was the first time in a while that the three of them all played together with the same thing. It really is a toy for all ages.

The set takes a couple of minutes to put together by simply clicking the wheels on the digger and assembling the workman and then it’s ready to go. We used a tray to play on, to keep the mess contained. Not that it makes a huge amount of mess – it’s easy to pick up, although a bit has disappeared up the vacuum now!

There were a few accessories included with the 3 in 1 Loader Set, including a digger, a figure, vehicle tools (easy for little hands to clip on by themselves)  and little extras such as a shovel to facilitate imaginative play. All three boys played happily together for a good hour, which is unheard of these days!
