I’m not one for spending a fortune on kids clothes – they grow out of them too quickly – but sometimes it is nice to invest in something that’s really good quality, especially when Alexander and Benjamin will get wear out of them.
I always thought that designer clothes were out of our league, so when I was given £30 credit for spending on children’s clothes on the House of Fraser website, I wasn’t expecting a lot. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a huge range of clothes from brands such as Bench, Tommy Hilfiger, Joules, Ralph Lauren and Timbaland. We decided on a pair of gorgeous slim fit dark wash jeans by Polo Ralph Lauren for Harrison, which was priced at a very reasonable £30.
We ordered 6 years size (6-7) because even though Harrison is nearly 4, he is a very tall lad. I know that sometimes designer clothes can come slightly smaller as well. As you can see, we have had to roll them up at the bottom, but on the smallest button on the adjustable waist, they fit him perfectly.
As you would expect from Ralph Lauren, these are high quality and well made. The denim is nice and soft (I hate rigid denim, especially on kids) and a lovely deep colour. The RL logo is stitched discreetly onto the pocket, and there is a smart dark brown leather label on the back waistband. They washed and dried beautifully, with no shrinkage or colour running.
I was really pleased with the range, the quality and the price of the designer children’s wear from House of Fraser. Here are a few other favourites:
1. Barbour Boys Pantone Cable Neck Jumper £54.95
2. Hugo Boss Short Sleeved Polo Shirt £49.00
3. Barbour Boys Rake Wax Jacket £119.00
4. Pediped Boys Jake Smart Casual Shoe £37.00
