Recently, Simply Be got in touch and asked me if I wanted to review some clothes from their website. having lost some more weight recently and needing some new clothes to keep me going through the next few months, I was straight on that website! I had a mooch through the leggings, tops and coats. There are so many lovely items that it was hard to pick a selection, but I’m really happy with what I eventually chose.
I really like these pull-on bootcut jeggings. I love wearing jeans, but I much prefer the comfort of an elasticated waistband! These are longer length, which is great because I often struggle to find jeans, leggings and jeggings that are long enough in the leg. These are really soft against the skin, unlike proper denim jeans, don’t need ironing and wash and dry really well. I’ve been living in these over the past couple of weeks – they look great with converse or with boots.
The checked shirt that I’m wearing is also from Simply Be. I love shirts, but having big boobs makes it hard to find shirts that don’t strain or gape across the chest. This one sits perfectly, although I do wish it was just a tiny bit longer. The sleeves can be either worn full length or rolled up and look good either way. I quite like wearing the shirt open with a plain coloured t-shirt or vest top underneath.
I’m not really a coat person – I have my trusty old parka and my waterproof for when the weather is terrible, but I don’t really own any jackets. This berry red longline bomber jacket caught my eye though! It’s not like anything I usually go for, but I love it! It’s long enough that it doesn’t show my tummy or back – a problem I often have with jackets – and it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. It’s perfect for this time of year when it’s chilly enough to need a jacket but too warm to need a proper coat still.
You’ve probably seen this photo before on my review of our bench. I’m wearing the ankle length firm control black leggings from Simply Be. I was both really disappointed and over the moon with the these at the same time. I was disappointed because what I thought I would be getting was a pair of leggings that I could wear with a long jumper (as I am in the picture, to be honest!). They’re actually more like footless tights than leggings – they’re very sheer and see through. However, they are very good tights/leggings – they’re thick, they’re comfortable and they do an amazing job of sucking my tummy, legs and bum in! They won’t be worn with long jumpers unless I’m in the house, but they’ll be brilliant with skirts and dresses and boots over the winter.
What do you think of the Simply Be Autumn/Winter range?
*I was sent these items free of charge for the purpose of this review. All words and opinions are my own.
