Well, last week was an odd one, wasn’t it? I mean, just when you thought 2020 couldn’t be any more traumatic and horrendous, throw in the events of the past couple of weeks and well, it’s all a bit shite, isn’t it?
Here in Wales, schools are planning to reopen at the end of June. We had an email from the boy’s schools asking us whether we would be sending them back this side of the summer, and we have decided that we aren’t, and we will reassess the situation over the summer. We are in a position of privilege that I work from home so can work around them, even though it is bloody difficult, that we have plenty of resources at home and that I have the experience to give them a good enough education. Of course, there are things I can’t do that schools can, and there is the social side, although I am happy for them to see friends at a safe distance. It’s a really difficult decision for lots of people. I’ll probably be writing a post at some point!
Thursday this week is Harrison’s birthday. We were supposed to be having a party but obviously that isn’t going to happen. Graham has booked the day off so we are going to have an afternoon tea party with lots of homemade cakes and yummy stuff.
