Top iPhone Apps for Bloggers

Top iPhone Appr

I’ve been blogging now for 15 months. For a big chunk of that time, all of my blogging was done on my iPhone or my tablet. Now, I do the main bits on my laptop on an evening, but having three little people means during the daytime I need something I can pick up and put down easily – and my iPhone is perfect for this.I use my phone for checking and managing my social media, for reading and responding to emails on the go, and to catch up on some of my favourite blogs. I also use it to save notes and ideas for future blog posts. Without my iPhone, I’d be lost when it comes to my blog, so I thought I’d share some of my top apps.

Top iPhone apps for bloggers

Bloglovin’ – I love reading other blogs – at the moment I love Oh So Amelia, Brummy Mummy of Two, Edspire and You Baby Me Mummy. I save all the blogs that I read regularly on this, and have a catch up in bed or when doing one of the night feeds.

Google Analytics – I try not to get too hung up on stats, but when my blog is my main source of income, it is important (and nice!) to know how many people are reading my blog, how they found my blog, and what they’ve looked at.

Facebook – Obviously, this isn’t just for blogging, but it is pretty necessary. I share all my blog posts with my friends and family on there, and I am also friends with lots of other bloggers. I’m also a member of many blogging groups on Facebook, where I can chat to and get advice from bloggers, and keep an eye out for opportunities.

Google + – I am still quite new to Google +, but it is rapidly becoming one of my favourite social networks for blogging. I find the app much easier to use than the desktop version!

Twitter – A bit of a no-brainer when it comes to blogging. It’s a great place for networking, sharing blog posts and chatting. I’ve made many friends through Twitter, and have built up relationships with many brands. I join in with local Twitter chats, such as #solihullhour and #birminghamhour, and discovered some local businesses to support, and who have supported me.

WordPress – My blog is run by WordPress, and this nifty app means I can approve, read and respond to comments on the go. On the odd occasion I’ve noticed a typo I can quickly edit from there rather than open it all up on the laptop. I can even blog from there!

Instagram –ย My Instagram is a great way of sharing photos with my followers, with some fantastic filters to make them look a bit more flattering. Being a nosey so and so, I love looking at other peoples photos, so this is the perfect app for me! Picking up followers and likes organically on Instagram can be quite tricky sometimes, but some people buy IG likes to give their profile a bit of a boost – and who can blame them?

Pinterest – I LOVE Pinterest!!! When I’m bored waiting around for appointments or buses, or when I’m in bed feeding Benjamin, I have a mooch through the millions of Pins. I can upload my own pins straight onto there, which does drive a lot of traffic to my blog, and get inspiration for blog posts, activities for kids, home ideas, weddings, outfits….anything!!

Facebook Pages – It is much easier to manage my Facebook page from this app rather than through the main Facebook app.  I can see how many likes/shares posts are getting, how many people posts have reached, and generally just post and comment from there.

Stumble Upon – I’m quite new to this site, but it does drive a fair amount of traffic to my blog. It suggests websites and pages based on your interests, and you can also submit your own posts for people to find, which is really easy to do on this app.

Photo Collage – Most of my photo editing is done on Pic Monkey on the laptop, but this is a fab on the go app for making collages ready to upload to Facebook or Instagram.

Just Unfollow –ย Twitter is notorious for people following someone to gain a new follower to increase numbers, before rapidly unfollowing. I’m not one for doing that, but I can monitor who has followed or unfollowed me, or who is inactive, which keeps my timeline a little less cluttered. After all, I don’t want to be following lots of people who have no intention of interacting with me!

So there are my top iPhone apps for bloggers. What are yours?
