The Cake Crew | Review

Cake.

You can probably guess by my blog name, I like cake. A LOT.

Imagine how excited I was when I was asked if I wanted to try out some cupcakes. Not only that but cupcakes made in North Wales, by The Cake Crew.

Yassss.

The cakes turned up on our doorstep after a day at the beach, and I was ordered to take the photos IMMEDIATELY so the boys could all get stuck in. They were eager testers for this one.

We were sent a selection of their cupcakes and the mini cupcakes. I baggsy-ed the chocolate ones, obvs. A moist (sorry!!!) chocolate sponge, with chocolate icing, sprinkles and topped with a chocolate flake. It was like a little bit of heaven in a cupcake case.

The mini salted caramel ones were equally as delicious. I just wished we had the bigger ones because they were so lush!

The boys tried out the raspberry, blueberry and strawberry ones and they loved them. Like the chocolatey ones. they weren’t dry in the slightest (trying to avoid using that word again!) and the icing was lovely and fruity.

I usually find with cupcakes that they’re all style and no substance – they look pretty, but are dry sponges and sickly icing. These really aren’t. They genuinely taste as good as they look.

The Cake Crew are based in Bala, in Gwynedd. All their cakes are hand finished, and if you need something bespoke, you can get in touch and discuss your requirements with them.
