I wasn’t sure whether to call this one 9/52 or 6/52. It’s the 9th week of 2018, but it’s only the 6th week I’ve been doing Living Arrows. My intention of joining in religiously every week for the year has been sadly waylaid – I’ve been so poorly that my blog has been a little bit neglected and we haven’t done anything other than pack for our impending house move and watch a lot of TV. Whilst the next couple of weeks are going to be crazy again, with moving and me going on my sister-in-law’s hen weekend in Suffolk, but I’m aiming to join in as much as I possibly can!
This weekend we did manage a trip to the park. It was freezing, but I think the fresh air did us a lot of good. It wasn’t a great weekend for Harrison and Alex though – the bickering between them seems to have reached new heights! They’re best friends one minute and at each other’s throats the next. I’m guessing this is something I’ve got to look forward to for the next ten years or so!
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
We had Alex’s parents evening last week (Harrison’s was before half term). Apart from being a bit daft when he’s with a certain little boy in his class, he’s doing really well. We’re really proud of him!
This little dude seems to have really grown up the past few weeks. We’re getting that slight attitude that seems to hit kids at that age, where he thinks he knows best (childsplaining, anyone?). School have really ramped up as well – he’s been bringing some really tricky spellings home, which is a bit of a battle at the moment. He’s going on his first overnight school trip in a few months where they’re expected to serve their own food and make their beds and shower themselves completely independently. We’re now encouraging him to do this sort of thing at home so he’s ready for it!
Ben is, well, Ben. Feral. Cheeky. Stroppy. And damn cute! His speech has come on leaps and bounds over the past few weeks and his range of vocabulary really astounds me. He’s just like Harrison – extremely articulate!
Lil and Ivy are like that, best buddies on minute and it’s all kicking off the next. It’s such a strange dynamic to watch. Glad you all managed to get out for a while though. I have had enough of the weather right now. Feels like the year is almost on hold!
Hope the move goes well. xx
I hope you are feeling better soon. This time of year it seems as if everyone gets ill at some point. Good luck with the house move.

Oh the joy of siblings! We had a particularly bad day for bickering yesterday but tonight my youngest two seem to be best friends again. Long may it last! Hope you are feeling better.
Sometimes life just gets in the way. It’s lovely having you link up when you can – and I love your outdoorsy pictures x
