Living Arrows #4

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

Kahlil Gibran

We’ve had a pretty good week this week if you can ignore the whinging of a teething baby. We haven’t done anything special or out of the ordinary – the terrible weather put a stop to that, but it’s just been a nice, chilled out one.

This little lady is now sitting up unaided, and as you can see, she’s very proud of herself. She’s also very dribbly – I’m fully expecting teeth to show themselves any day now. We had her six-month check-up (she’s not six months for another couple of weeks) and she now weighs 13lb 3oz. The heath visitor described her as ‘petite, but perfect’.

This little dude has been golden, as always. He’s doing so well at school, practising his phonics. He’s been learning all about space and has come home telling me all sort of interesting facts about the planets!

Last week, Alex came out of school SUPER excited. He had been moved off the school reading scheme and onto free reading books. He’s pretty pleased about that, considering he is only just into the second term of year two. His first book was a Horrid Henry one, and he’s already finished it – he couldn’t get his nose out of it!

This dude is my right-hand man when it comes to Elizabeth. When we come in from school it can be a little bit chaotic sometimes, trying to organize everyone getting changed, putting shoes and lunchboxes away and sorting out after school snacks. Harrison is as good as gold – he either gets Elizabeth’s coat off and amuses her while I sort stuff out, or he goes and makes me a coffee and sorts out snacks if I need to feed her. He’s so grown up and helpful!
