24 Days of Coffee – A Coffee Advent Calendar!

I’ve always had an advent calendar. Even now, at the age of 32, my mum still buys me a chocolate advent calendar every year. The one year she didn’t – apparently, my brothers and I (all in our 20’s at the time) were ‘too old’ for Peppa Pig/Thomas the Tank chocolate calendars. The uproar from that is still legendary in our family, and she’s never made that mistake again!!

As much as I do love my childish chocolate calendars, I have been lusting over some of the more grown-up ones on the market at the moment. There’s one for every taste – makeup, candles, alcohol, cheese…and now, coffee!

It’s pretty obvious from my blog name that I love coffee. I very rarely drink alcohol, so good coffee is my treat. I’ve always got pods for my Tassimo machine in and usually have a bag of fresh coffee in the cupboard or fridge. Last year, in a blog competition (I think), I won a selection of coffees from Perk U Latte, who run a coffee subscription service. The coffee was probably the best I’ve ever tasted (and I used to work at one of the big coffee chains as a student!), so when I found out they were releasing a coffee advent calendar – well, you can imagine how excited I was!

It was probably the nicest smelling parcel I’ve ever received, and Graham keeps catching me in the kitchen having a good old sniff of the box. It has taken ALL my willpower not to crack it open – roll on December 1st! I’ll be doing a little video on my Instagram Stories every day through December up until Christmas Eve showing you that day’s coffee.

There are no doors to open or anything fiddly like that – it’s just a rather classy looking box that slides out with 24 sachets of coffee in. I reckon there is enough in each 20g sachet for two mugs of coffee, but of course, that depends on how strong you like it. There are 12 different varieties of the fresh Artisan coffees – if that doesn’t keep you going through the madness leading up to the big day, I don’t know what will.

If you’re looking for a luxury, grown up advent calendar, this is the one! It costs £40 (for 24 cups of coffee at least – bargain!!!) and is available from the Perk U Latte website.
