Bedtime – my favourite time of the day! Natalie from Hello Cuppies tagged me in ‘The Bedtime Tag Quiz’, where I’ve answered a few questions about my bedtime routines. Here goes!
1.Describe your usual bedtime routine.
It all depends on what shift Graham is on. If he has worked days or it’s his days off, he sorts the kids out and I use that time to work. If he’s home, about half an hour before bed I make a cup of chamomile tea, wash up any bits and pieces left over (I hate getting up to washing up), make sure the cats are in and put the throws and pillows straight on the sofas. Then it’s to the bathroom to take my makeup off and do all my skincare stuff before getting into bed, setting alarm and going to sleep.
If he’s on nights, this all happens, but a bit earlier. I generally go to bed at the same time as the kids but lie in bed with my cup of tea and the TV on.
What are your favourite pyjamas?
I only have two pairs – a grey set and a pretty floral set. I love both of them and wear whichever ones are clean that night.
What is your current bedtime reading?
I’ve just downloaded Me Before You by Jojo Moyes – I can’t wait to get stuck in this weekend when Graham is on night shifts!
What would I find on your bedside table?
It’s usually a bit of a mess to be honest. Looking at it now, there’s baby wipes, a Yankee candle (which doesn’t get lit in case I fall asleep), a book, my spare glasses, an inhaler, some body lotion, some Rennies because I suffer from heartburn a lot at night and a toy truck!
What scent makes you sleepy?
I can’t say anything in particular makes me sleepy. I know lavender is supposed to be but it doesn’t seem to have that affect on me.
What is your usual bedtime and wakeup time?
I usually go to bed anywhere between 9pm and 11pm and wake up between 5am and 6am
What are your top three bedtime products?
My Estee Lauder Night Repair, Garnier Micellar Water and chamomile tea!
What is your most common sleeping position?
On my side I think – I am a MASSIVE fidget in bed though and wake up in all sorts of positions!
Do you have anything you like to take to bed with you?
Just a cup of tea. I’ve found I sleep so much better since I started drinking chamomile tea before bed.
What is your worst bedtime habit?
Working in bed until too late or playing on my phone. I keep telling myself how bad it is but never seem able to switch off.
