Monday was Harrison’s last day before going back to school. With Benjamin being so poorly over Christmas and having to wait in every day for the nurses to come and give him his antibiotics, we have done absolutely nothing, so we made the most of the fact it wasn’t raining and headed to the park. One of my New Years Resolutions was to get out the house more. Living in inner city Birmingham means there is a shortage of nice parks, and we don’t have a car at the moment so are limited to local parks. Our nearest one is a ten-minute walk away and, although nothing special, is perfect for the kids to have a play in.
It was the perfect chance to have a play around with the filters on my iPhone camera – I love how moody the sky looks over the hill.
Both kids loved climbing all over the equipment. Alex still needs a leg up on some of it but he is absolutely fearless!
Harrison is a little bit more cautious than Alex, but still insists on giving me a near heart attack jumping off high ledges!
Their favourite bit of the park, without a doubt, are the swings. Graham was pushing them and they both wanted to go higher. My heart was in my mouth seeing how high they were going, but they loved it.
Proves you don’t need to go far to enjoy the outdoors!
My new years resolution is to not let the weather dictate what we do. My little lady loves the park when it’s raining – all the big muddle puddles to jump in I guess.
That looks like a lot of fun! It’s always great to get out to the park, especially if you have been stuck inside for a while. I hope Benjamin is recovering well. x
Looks like you had a great time. The local park is often neglected!
A perfect way to blow away the germs of Christmas and start the New Year with some outdoor fun. It looks like they both appreciated the space and freedom to play there. Thanks for joining me for Country Kids.
We are carless as well and can only go to the beach for our walks. And its not short of amazing like your walk here too =) #countrykids
Looks like a fun outing. The playground is always a winner with both my kids. I think a nearby playground is just as fun as an amusement centre, especially when they’e little.
The park is always a winner in this house! a run to the playground really makes a big change, especially when you’ve been having a grotty time. Hope B is feeling better.
Swings are a favourite here too, hope your little one is feeling lots better x
Children love the park and it’s our failsafe place to go if we’re all a bit restless. Your photos are gorgeous! Thanks for linking up x
You definitely can’t beat an afternoon at the park- we love going to our local ones, although we definitely don’t stay out as long as we should do in this freezing cold weather! x
