I quite like vacuuming.
There, I said it. It’s a bit of a weird thing to enjoy, right? I never used to. I use to hate digging out the big heavy one we had, finding somewhere to plug it in, doing half a room, unplugging it, finding another socket etc. It was always a bit of a ballache. Then, quite recently, I reviewed a cordless vac which was a bit of a revolution. It made life SO much easier.
At the same sort of time, I was offered a VonHaus 2 in 1 Stick Vacuum to review. I mean, how many vacuums does a girl need? It turns out two is the magic number.
If I’m honest, I wasn’t expecting amazing things with the VonHaus. For starters, I was all about the cordless ones. How on earth would a traditionally corded one compare to that? And also price wise – my Vax was almost £200. The VonHaus is less than £30. Obviously, the Vax was going to be far, far superior, right?
I absolutely ADORE my little VonHaus 2 in 1 Stick Vacuum. It’s like a cute little baby but unlike a cute little baby, it actually has some use. For starters, it’s small. It can be popped under the stairs and takes up next to no room. Then, the lightness of it. My goodness, is it lightweight! It weighs next to nothing, so if I do need to take it up and down the stairs, it’s not a problem at all. Yes, it’s corded. I’d rather it be cordless, of course, but there is a pretty decent length wire on it.
But, the main thing I was impressed was with the suction power of it. For such a low value, lightweight little thing, that thing is bloody powerful. I have absolutely no hesitation in saying that in terms of suction power on our downstairs laminate flooring, it more than matches the Vax…and it’s LESS than £30. That’s amazing.
It can be used as a little handheld device or with the handle to make it into a full height vac, and it’s super simple to change over. It’s also really easy to empty, and because the cylinder is transparent, you can see exactly when it needs emptying.
It gets into all the little nooks and crannies really easily, which makes it ideal for doing the stairs and because of the Spong Filtration system, which locks in small particles to prevent the spread of allergies and bacteria, we use it as our main vacuum upstairs, which is carpeted.
I am super, super impressed with the nifty little gadget, and for under £30, it’s an absolute bargain. If you’re looking for something cheap, easy to use and does the job properly…well, this is it!
