Is it really that time of the week already?! I gave myself a break from the internet completely on Monday, turning the wifi off and not even having a sneaky peek of my emails. It was weird, and I missed it but Tuesday I was at work until 7.30 because it was parent’s evening and I had volunteered to do the refreshments. By the time I got home and had dinner it was pretty much time for bed so didn’t look at social media for a second day!
I managed to get the chance for a quick chat with Harrison’s teacher, and he’s doing really well. His targets include learning all the 2d and 3d shapes by the end of the year and writing sentences without being prompted for the next word. The one target was very interesting – to tidy up! Apparently he wanders around when it is time to tidy up the classroom, something he has begun to do at home so we’ve come down pretty tough on this one now. Apart from that, I came away one very proud mommy!
Anyway, onto this week’s Little Loves…
Read
My self-imposed, and short-lived internet break meant I actually sat and read a book! After watching Angels and Demons (see watched!) I was desperate to read the book again. I own all of Dan Brown’s books and the only one I couldn’t find was Angels and Demons, so I settled on The Lost Symbol. I really love his writing and find it so fascinating. I think this one might be my favourite.
Watched
Angels and Demons! It popped up as a suggested film on Netflix, and I had forgotten how much I loved it. To be honest, I don’t think there are many (if any) films with Tom Hanks that I don’t like. We also watched a film called Olympus Has Fallen. It was really good – I love action films – and had Gerard Butler in (yum!), but it was so much like another film that we watched recently, called White House Down.
Heard
I am absolutely IN LOVE with this track from Lukas Graham, called 7 years. I’ve been listening to some other stuff of his as well on Spotify and I’m now a huge fan of his music. Have a little listen:
Wore
I was trying to avoid buying new shoes and boots this year. That was until my boots suddenly fell apart. I needed some boots that were comfortable and looked good but didn’t cost too much. These popped up on my Facebook newsfeed and when I headed over to look on eBay, they were just £15 brand new. They’re from Evans, but a discontinued range hence the price. I am having to wear thick socks with them because they’re wide fit and I have quite narrow feet, but they are incredibly comfy and perfect for work.
Made
Apart from endless cups of coffee at parent’s evening, I’ve helped the boys to make these hatching chick stick puppets. They look a bit freaky, but we had fun making them.
And lastly…
It’s half term!! As much as I really enjoy my job, it’ll be nice to have the week off and catch up on everything!
How was your week?
Love your new boots, look lovely and comfy. I’m loving the new song from Lucas Graham too can’t stop listening to it. Have a good weekend x #LittleLoves
What a lovely week – I hope you have a great half term. I think a lot of us are ready for the break. Fantastic books – they looks so comfy but smart too. I’ve got quite a few of Dan Brown’s books on my shelves – might give them a go x
Such lovely boots, and what a bargain!
Hope you’re enjoying half term xx
