Happy Bonfire Night!
It’s been a couple of weeks since I did a meal planning post – with everything that has happened over the last couple of weeks, meal planning was at the very bottom of my mind. It’s taken this long to get any sort of real appetite back if I’m honest.
I have noticed that when meal planning has fallen by the wayside, our food bill goes through the roof and we find ourselves turning to ready meals or takeaways more often. I’ve done a Morrison’s online shop for this morning, and it was so much cheaper because I knew what we needed to get. I’m looking forward to eating properly again and cooking some new meals.
On Saturday night we are going to a firework display in Penmaenmawr. It seems to have become a bit of a tradition since we have moved here (our third bonfire night in North Wales) to park on the flyover and watch them from the warmth and comfort of our car, before heading home for pizza and chips. I’ve promised the kids I will make them ‘proper’ hot chocolate in the slow cooker for when we get home – I’ll be blogging that recipe next week!
