Well, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?
I’m not even going to look back to see when the last time I actually wrote anything was. I bet I wrote less than about 15 posts in total in 2022!
2022 was not the easiest of years. Nothing bad happened, which I guess is a definite good thing, but it just felt like a real slog at times, and that’s not very fun. Will this year be better? I hope so! With the shitshows of 2020 and 2021 and the boringness of 2022, I reckon 2023 needs to be a good one!
One of the reasons why this poor little blog of mine has been so badly neglected is that I spend my days writing for other blogs, which is kinda ironic. I love what I do (most of the time!) but it does mean that this space is often pushed aside. I miss it a lot, and I miss writing for me. So, this year, I am going to attempt to manage my time a little better (hahahaha!) and post at least once a week on here.
Meal planning posts were always really popular with readers – I guess it feeds into our natural curiosity about other people’s lives and gives people inspiration. Towards the end of last year, Graham and I started going to the gym regularly and made an effort to start eating better, so these meal plans should reflect this a little. We are a busy family of six, with kids who love nothing more than super noodles and chicken nuggets, so it will be realistic and family-friendly—no fancy meals here, especially given the cost of living crisis!

Meal Plan
Mango, chicken, bean, and rice bake
Mac and cheese with broccoli
Sweet and sour chicken with rice
Veggie lasagne and garlic bread
Omelette, wedges, and salad
Chilli, rice, and nachos
Sausage casserole with mashed potato
Lovely to see you blogging again. I hope 2023 is better for you. I love the sound of the meals that you have planned especially the rice bake. x
