Degustabox | February 2017

The one day of the month we all look forward to is the day our Degustabox arrives. We’ve been having it for almost a year now, and we’ve been impressed with every month so far. Yes, there has been the odd product we haven’t liked, but we’ve also discovered some new brands and products that we wouldn’t otherwise have known about.

February 2017 Degustabox

Kabuto Noodles – RRP £1.99

I was really looking forward to trying this – it seemed like a super healthy Pot Noodle. Sadly, I really didn’t like it. I found the coconut flavour really overpowering. If you do like that sort of thing, they’re really handy for taking to work – it just needs hot water.

Heinz No Added Sugar Beanz – RRP £0.65 x 2

We couldn’t taste any difference between these and our normal beans, which can only be a good thing. Small tins are useful to have in the cupboard – sometimes only one of us wants them for a quick lunch or as part of our main meal, and we end up opening a big tin which inevitably ends up going off in the fridge!

Maui and Sons Banana Chips – RRP £1.00

I was really looking forward to these – dried bananas are one of my favourite snacks, and covered in dark chocolate is my idea of heaven. They were a tad disappointing – they didn’t seem to have much of a crunch to them. Still, the taste was nice!

Willy Chase’s Fitcorn – RRP £2.19 – There are five flavours on offer and you’ll receive one in your box.

I love popcorn, but I really can’t bring myself to try these just yet – we were sent the apple cider vinegar flavour which to me doesn’t sound all that great. We’ll open them at some point I guess – I could be proved totally wrong and love them but at the moment, they just aren’t floating my boat.

Coldpress Juice – RRP £2.79 There are two flavours on offer and you’ll receive one in your box.

When I first took a bottle of green juice out of the box, I wanted to laugh. It looked disgusting. However, when I opened it (after chilling it in the fridge), I was really surprised by it – I really liked it! So much so that I actually got in touch with Coldpress about trying the other juices in the range. I’ll be writing about that very soon! We had the fruity greens one, and not only was it super yummy but it was super healthy as well.

Koko Dairy Free Coconut milk – RRP £1.50

Although none of us are dairy free,  I occasionally buy coconut milk for something a bit different. I had this every morning with my coconut and rice cereal that I was sent in a previous Degustabox. It was really nice!

Blossom Hill – RRP £4.99 There are two flavours on offer and you’ll receive one in your box.

We had the summer fruits version, and it was really nice and light. This would be absolutely perfect in the summer with a BBQ. However, even though the bottle is a screw top, it was really difficult to open. I wasn’t the only one who thought that – Stevie from The Cornish Mum had the same issue. I almost had to give up trying to open it!

Double Dutch Mixer – RRP 1.25

I think this could be quite an acquired taste, but I really liked it. I drank it as it was but I reckon it would be pretty damn good with gin in the summer!

Just Bee – RRP £1.49

I’m not going to beat around the bush with this one – I personally thought it was revolting. I tried a couple of swigs and it ended up down the sink. It didn’t taste of anything in particular but was incredibly sweet. However, that’s just my opinion – I’m sure plenty of others will disagree.

Willy’s Apple Cider Vinegar – FREE SAMPLE

I haven’t used this yet, but I’ve been busy pinning things on Pinterest for it – apparently it’s excellent to use in your hair and for weight loss!

Bebeto Candy Crush Gummy Mix – RRP £.169

I don’t eat sweets, but judging by how quickly the pack disappeared, I’m guessing these were very nice!

Bebeto Cheese Cake Gummies – RRP £1.69

Again, I didn’t try these but the kids and Graham loved them!

Peppersmith Mints & Gum – RRP £1.50 There are two types on offer and you’ll receive one in your box.

These were great for Graham to take to work when he is on a long shift for freshening up his breath, and the resealable containers were great for shoving in his pocket.

Diablo ‘no added sugar’ Chocolate Coated Wafer – £0.95

I had this, and whilst it was nice, it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. I do love the fact it was no added sugar though  – made it feel a bit healthier.

New York Delhi’s Americanos – £1.50

OMG, these were amazing! Obviously, as a huge coffee and dark chocolate fan they’re my sort of thing anyway, but these ones were super lush. It was a nice, indulgent treat alongside a cup of coffee one morning. I’ll definitely be looking out for these again.

As you can see, it was a mixed bunch this month but I think that’s a really positive thing – I’ve tried new things, not necessarily liked everything, but enjoyed lots of it. At just £12.99 a box with a value of around £25, I think the Degustabox is fantastic. If you want to try it out for yourself, you can get £7 off by entering BLDEG15 at the checkout.
