A day late again – but nearly at the halfway point! I’m 19 weeks now and this week, I’ve began to feel really heavy and big, and other than leggings and maxi dresses, none of my pre-pregnancy clothes fit me.
I’ve been starting to think about hospital bags, which I will blog about when it is all done. Lots of people have asked why I’m doing it this early – well, why not? It will be one less thing to worry about closer to the time. So far, it’s just little bits like picking up an extra shower gel or toothpaste when shopping to pop in the bag. I’m aiming to have my bag packed by 25 weeks, and babies by 30 weeks, which is when I had them done when I was pregnant with Harrison and Alex.
I’m still getting braxton hicks which are mildly annoying but they make Squiggles go crazy afterwards, which is nice to feel!
Heartburn seems to be beginning to rear it’s ugly head . I’ve been quite lucky so far, as with the boys it started pretty much straight away and made me really poorly. This time it’s kept me awake a few times and made me sick twice, but I’ve got the Gaviscon and Refresher sweets (I swear they work!) ready! Fingers crossed it won’t be too bad!
Bump is getting big enough to make it hard to get comfy at night. I’ve always slept on my tummy, and the midwives have always reassured me that as long as I’m comfortable, it’s perfectly safe. It’s got to the stage where it is uncomfortable now, so I’m trying to sleep as much as possible on my left side, which is the best side for baby. I’m using my big pregnancy pillow to try and help take some of the weight. I’ve also started having restless legs which is really irritating – the joys of pregnancy!
I keep getting asked if I’m struggling with being pregnant in the heat – absolutely not! I might do if I was in the last few weeks, but I gave birth to Harrison in the middle of a June heatwave and was absolutely fine then, other than swollen feet and ankles. I love sunshine and heat! The only thing I’m struggling with is not being able to have an ice cold beer to cool down with – vimto it is then!
Here is bump at 19 weeks!
You’re looking great, lovely bump! Hope the big pregnancy pillow helps, I loved mine! X
Oh I do feel for you in this heat. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly x
I wish I’d tried Refresher sweets when I suffered with heartburn, sounds like an ace solution!
I’ve used mine even in between pregnancies!
It sounds like you’re terribly organised – I still havent even started thinking about a hospital bag and I’m rapidly approaching 36 weeks! Your bump is looking fantastic and I’m glad you’re not too bothered by the heat – I think it’s only this week because it’s been so humid that it’s started to get to me, but I discovered the solution – sit in the kids paddling pool for the whole afternoon – they thought it was wonderful and I was the perfect temperature!
Ooh you better get packing!!! I said I wasn’t too bothered by the heat but then today I’ve really struggled! X
Maxi dresses very cool style wise so you still get to look glam! Good luck with the future weeks 🙂
Good luck with the second half of your pregnancy! Loving your dress! x
Thankyou – a £5 charity shop bargain, with a next label!
You look great and don’t worry about clothes not fitting you – who needs clothes in this heat anyway 😉
You have such a lovely little bump! Your dress is gorgeous! I think maternity dresses always have the nicest patterns!!
Hope the pillow helps! I have a multitude of wedge pillows 🙂

Totally with you on missing the beer – this heat makes me crave an ice cold Corona with a big wedge of lime! I’m mega impressed at your hospital bag preparation. I really need to get my backside in gear and pack mine. In fact, I need to get my backside in gear and BUY a bag as the one I had last time has fallen to pieces! Thanks for linking up to the #BlogBumpClub x
Wow thats early to have your bags packed – think I did mine the week before lol
I’m pretty similar to you- the heat isn’t bothering me in the slightest right now and now that the sickness is easing I am feeling really well! I’m still sleeping on my tummy- it can be hard to breathe on my back or right side but I can’t sleep on my left all night. Funny how you forget these things isn’t it? Your bump is gorgeous by the way x x x
